Gauss readings or ratings of magnets can be very misleading. Some people quote the internal gauss rating, we quote the surface reading. The internal gauss reading is 65% higher than the surface reading. Our small biomagnets have a surface reading of 1800 to 2000 gauss, the large biomagnets have a surface reading of 2000 - 2200 gauss. These biomags are probably the strongest available on the market, and are therefore used by therapists for healing. The small biomagnets will pass a magnetic field and deflect a compass needle right through a thigh. The large biomags will deflect a compass needle through the torso. What makes a magnet powerful for therapeutic use is its thickness. Our copper bangles have 3000 gauss magnets. The diameter is 4mm, the thickness is 2mm. These small 3000 gauss magnets will pass a magnetic field 3/4 of the way through the wrist. Our large 2200 gauss biomagnets have a diameter of 30mm and a thickness of 10mm, these will pass a magnetic field completely through the torso.
